Get In On the Bakugan Craze
For those who are unfamiliar, Bakugan is an inventive strategy game based on the popular anime TV series, "Bakugan: Battle Brawlers." It pits a variety of "Bakugan warriors" against each other for points. The Bakugan themselves are magnetic, spring-loaded marbles that -- when exposed to a metal "gate card" -- burst open to reveal a fearsome warrior.

The mission of the Bakugan strategy game is to capture the opponent's metal gate cards. This is achieved by rolling your Bakugan warriors onto these cards and doing battle with defending enemy Bakugan. The game involves a surprising amount of strategy, and features various tactical cards and trap pieces that help protect your Bakugan warriors.

Room for the Imagination
This game combines skill (aiming your Bakugan) with strategy (placement of the cards). Players also enjoy the way the warriors pop open on the magnetic cards -- although sometimes they do it even when they don't land on the cards. Players unfamiliar with the TV show, may feel a little lost at first in the world of Bakugan. But with the help of the colorful, animated Bakugan Web site, they will get what the game is about and how to play.

Even without the official strategy game, Bakugan toys are enjoyable and can be played with like regular action figures. Fans of the show will like role-playing as one of the various characters, such as the fiery 12-year-old leader "Dan" or the wise "Marucho."

Maxus Dragonoid Expands Your Bakugan Collection
This particular set contains one Bakugan warrior (named Neo Dragonoid) and six Bakugan traps (Grakas Hound, Dark Hound, Grafias, Brachium, Spitarm and SpyderFencer.) These pieces can be combined together to form the massive Maxus Dragonoid monster. The transformation process is a bit complicated, but the set includes clear instructions that make assembly easy. The assembled Dragonoid is a unique toy, although a bit unwieldy -- if not positioned correctly, he will easily fall down.

Each of the seven Bakugan that compose Dragonoid can be used individually in the strategy game. Avid players will be happy to know that this set also includes a special ability card, which will come in handy when you're devising a strategy to topple your enemy. Just keep in mind that, in order to play Bakugan properly, you'll need several other Bakugan marbles/cards that are not included in this package. Kids who are new to Bakugan might be better off with one of the various starter packs.

The next phase of Bakugan
My child received this for their 7th birthday and loved it! However, they love all the Bakugan stuff, so that's not so surprising. That this can be connected to make one big toy is pretty cool, and more single Bakugan balls are coming out that can connect to these also. Bakugan is doing a good job of keeping their ideas fresh, and creative. We don't watch the cartoons, as they are too mean-spirited. The toys by themselves are fine though.

The price point on this is a tad high, which means it ends up being a "special" gift, and not an every day one, so they aren't selling very many. It's obvious a lot of thought and skill goes into creating these plastic balls that "transform" instantly into creatures (when put on any metal surface.

They have already designed more of these- the next one being silver or gray or something.

Great animated versions of both Megatron and Optimus

I love this collection for a number of reasons:

1. Great looking Megatron that is obviously Megatron. (Too many incarnations of the Decipticon leader could have been anyone, but just named "Megatron".) The grey and black coloring and, of course, the arm cannon make it clear who this guy is. Really like the spaceship mode as well. Much better than the movie version.

2. Very nice Optimus that, gratefully, has the head with the face plate, not the mouth, (Optimus should not have a mouth!) unlike the other $10 version of Prime.

3. Very reasonable price that keeps me from having to spend twice as much to get the similar, larger versions of each.

4. Comes with a intro to the new series, which allowed me to preview the animated series to see if it would be worth buying.

The only drawback, in my opinion, is the "battle damage" paint patterns on both. Could have done without that.

This product is a very good deal for the value. It's a very cool and reliable. Both Optimus and Megatron have an original battle looks. They have scratches from the war on their body parts; chest, arms, stomach. They also have a very good paint and quality. When they convert from robot to car or air craft or vice versa, both of them look really cool, really replicate the original movie. The eyes can light on when you put them facing the sun. The guns also awesome !
I strongly recommend you to buy this product!

We ordered the Optomus Prime vs. Megatron as a Christmas present for our 3 1/2 year old son. (I know it says for ages 5+, but he's really into Trasformers and is pretty bright for his age.) My husband figured out how to transform them which seems tricky at first, but once you do it a couple of times it's a piece of cake. My son transforms them with no problem. We have about 6 of the Tranformers Animated figures and these are actually easier to transform than some of the others...especially Bumblebee. (That one IS tricky even for my husband who is very mechanical.)
These two are very durable, too. I have to say we are all very pleased with this purchase.

Slightly improved but could of been better

First of all the box Ironhide comes in is nice. It's one of those g1 classic boxes that they originally came in with the flap. But I would of atleast prefered it didn't have the flap. Since it either takes additional space or it gets bent. When you open the box on one of the box's side panels it reveals his cartoon head with chest. It's made out of cardboard. But I don't think it's durable at all. Supposely it goes where his head sticker on the seat goes. Atleast it is better than nothing. Decided to leave it there. The inserts is made of nice plastic velcro like all reissues. What really makes this toy is his red cherry Nissan vanette alt mode! The side design lines are painted this time along with his sun roof up top. His attack sled has three chrome track wheels which is the upper van halve. Which is one front wheel track ,and two back wheel tracks. There are 2 visible wheel tracks on the van side windows. With a missle launch post that folds which Ironhide stands on back of. While he's on the sled. In front of the sled you put a red cap on the hole where his gun goes. The red cap along with the chrome gun and three chrome missles are his accessories. But Ironhide can't hold any weapon that includes his gun. His fists don't have any holes. The robot is as small as a minibot and very spiney. His upper sled being the bigger mass of the two. The robot is a far cry from his animated self. His actual face is on back of the chest windshield being the not so appealing black and silverlining face sticker head that goes on the single chair there. The chair was for a diaclone driver figure to sit on it. You can't really blame the toy since it came years before the cartoon. Of course the regular sticker sheet is included along with the japanese written instructions. Atleast Hasbro and Takara could of made him an anime head sticker instead of that ugly lousy one. The red paint isn't all that good. It tends to chip on the chest and his feet. Which are made of metal diecast. The paint chipped in several places below his feet when I put his feet on the sled panels. The panels scraped off the paint there. I think I will never put him on the sled again. I rate encore g1 Ironhide, two and a half stars overall. Since it is a rare toy ,and a popular likable character with alot of screen time in the g1 show then it's a must have indeed! But be careful with his fragile paint. When handling him.

My Son Loves This Transformer

I have a five year old and he just loves transformers. I know that this toy doesn't change into anything, but I think that makes it better. They are perfect for role playing and the sounds are great (especially since you can turn it off) I definately recommend this for any transformer fan.

Your Own Transformers Experience
Staying true to the movie, Devastator is massive, standing well over a foot in height and dwarfing most other Transformers toys. He is a solid, heavy, and well-built toy. Pulling a lever on his chest causes his mouth (called the Vortex Grinder) to light up with bright, neon-green LED lights. The lever also triggers battle sounds and quotes taken straight from the movie.

Devastator isn't the most flexible toy around. Because of his size, he can be a bit cumbersome to play with. However, his elbows and knees are articulated, which makes him easier to position and balance. He also has realistic details, which gives him value as a collector's replica.

Devastator consists of six smaller construction vehicles: the Constructicons. These detailed vehicles are painted in earthy colors suited for their rough construction jobs. Together, the Constructicons form a complete construction team. There is a bulldozer, a dump truck, an excavator, a scoop loader, a mixer and a crawler crane. They prove to be very maneuverable on a hard surface, able to make hairpin turns easily. However, it should be noted that, unlike their film counterparts, these vehicles do not transform into robots individually.

An Enjoyable, Challenging Assembly
Devastator might be one of the biggest transformers around, but it's also one of the most difficult to put together. Parents should be aware that the Devastator requires some degree of finesse to assemble -- and in some cases, strength. Some of the snapping parts are especially tricky to connect together, and prove difficult to pry apart. The toy is labeled as a Level 4 conversion, so younger children will have difficulty converting the toy by themselves. It took our tester (an experienced Transformer player) nearly 15 minutes to figure everything out. Still, putting the toy together should provide a constructive challenge for older kids.

Not as bad as they say it is

I had been hearing a lot of bad things about Devastator when pics of him first got out, about an insane price tag and no robot modes, but he was the one I was looking forward to the most. I figured that I would find him and see for myself how bad he looked and if I didn't like it I wouldn't buy it. So I was at Toys R Us the other day and found the last one on the shelf and Devastator didn't look that bad to me...only the price tag did haha. While he is not as big as I had expected (Rumors where he would be 2ft tall at least, but he's a little over 1ft), its still pretty impressive to look at. When you open the box all the constructicons are already transformed into the limbs but are not connected and also a few parts like Scavengers' scoop and Mixmasters' truck cab, but all are easily connected. As in the movie Devastator is very top heavy and must be places in a hunchback or an on all-fours pose. He has and push button activated Vortex similer to the movie and His head expands a good five inchs or so and you can fit legends and scout class figures in there. The box says that transformation for him is a 4 and really I think hes been the easiest to transform out of all the transformers from ROTF! Pretty much its a turn here and pop these in and move that back motions when turning the Constructicons into vehicle mode. One thing that I really didn't like is Mixmaster won't ever shut up and there is no on-off switch and when he is transformed into a vehicle the slightest bump sends him off. All of them look great in vehicle mode exept High Tower as he is brightly colored compared to the other two yellow Constructicons. Paint details are minor as in they have none compared to the voyager and deluxe class Constructicons but I figure I'll paint him myself. So in all he is a decent figure and his price isn't for everybody but if your a fan of the movie Devastator you'll like it.

The Real Ultimate Bumblebee

Bumblebee is arguably the most popular Transformer behind Optimus Prime. Even Megatron (at least these days) doesn't hold a candle. We've seen many different versions of this Autobot so how does this one stand up? **Note: This is NOT the deluxe version of Bumble that sells for less than ten bucks. This is the Human Alliance Bumblebee - an altogether bigger and higher quality toy. **

For Kids:
In either robot or vehicle mode this is a quality toy with lots of detail and fun to play with. The inclusion of the Sam Witwicky action figure is a bonus for kids as well. I'm far from a kid (on the outside) these days but I remember loving the G1 transformers and the little action figure you could put inside - pretending you're that little guy with a big robot pal. The human factor is often forgotten these days. The main downside for kids is that the transformation is hard and like many of these movie transformers there are probably many kids who wouldn't have the patience for it.

For Adults:
Again, this is a bigger more detailed version. The car is top notch and while the interior could have more detail that it has an interior at all is a bonus considering that's a first for this line. This human alliance Bumblebee is almost twice the size of the deluxe version and a lot of that additional detail shows in the clear windows and seats, steering wheel and interior of the car.

In robot mode, words may not be able to describe it (I'll try to have some pics up). There is so much detail in this guy that I'd compare to the new Leader Class Optimus Prime as far as screen accuracy. Let's just say that this is the best representation of movie Bumblebee I've ever seen and I own the huge Ultimate Bumblebee... He's got the most accurate head sculpt and includes the battle mask that no other version I own does! Despite initial misgivings I found that the seats were well hidden in robot mode (they're out there but placed in such a way as to be unobtrusive). The back bumpers become the knee caps and another first (aside from the battle mask) the chest actually has two rotating sections to make the "tilted" look of his "pecks". Even that his right hand is a blaster does not make a big difference as it is so well done (and believe me, I've been upset by that blaster hand in many versions - why not a rotatable hand / weapon?) and looks so good.

His articulation is off the charts too. Tranformers have good articulation and this guy has great! I can't think of a pose I can't get him into (31 points at least). Flip his battle mask up or down, place his missiles where you want, he looks good.

For adult collectors the additional 2.5" Sam figure is not such a great deal. Sure he's there and sure he's pretty well areticulted but you have a giant robot to deal with. It should be said though that the robot has several options to carry the human - in his hand, on his shoulder or in his seat. That may be fun for you or the kids.

Maybe 30 plus dollars seems like a lot but maybe not once you get your hands on him. Transform and roll out with this Bumblebee. He's great and puts past versions to shame. His transformation is challenging but rewarding.

Is Megatron a Mega-Toy?

I'm a little late to the party on Revenge of the Fallen Megatron. He wasn't in my top list of picks but I picked him up on a whim and put him though the paces. In ROTF old Megatron is back in action thanks to a little Decepticon cannibalism at the bottom of the ocean and has been upgraded with treads.

Giant robot, giant gun, giant tank, lights and sounds, shooting projectile, transformer... I see no negatives here for a kid to have a blast with Megatron. Not to mention he has a sleek alien cool look to him. If your kid liked the movies at all or just likes cool toys I'd say this guy's a sure bet. His transformation is easier than it looks like it would be as well and with a little demonstration a kid should get it.

Unbelieveable, until you get it in your hands!

When I first spied leaked photos of this figure, it was difficult to imagine they could make such a toy transform tightly into the truck that we all know. This one must be seen (or better, physically handled) to be believed! The transformation is amazing, and more intricate than anything before seen in the movie lines (and probably in any Transformers line, actually, 'cept perhaps some of the Masterpieces).

Plastics seem to be a little better than the first movie Prime, and the paints are finely done as well. Super poseable and stable. Parts are easy to pop-off, but pop back easily as well (which if you accept, puts the durability to at least 4 stars). Sounds are improved, with a line from Peter Cullen this time round. And the best thing? It's probably as movie accurate as possible, short of making a bigger toy!

Negatives? Well, the wheels are now plastic (not rubber), and have a habit of going out of line in truck mode. The fingers/thumb are no longer articulated. The head doesn't really look up (mainly side-to-side). The Transformation will test most adults, let alone children! And the way some pieces pop-off may be annoying to some buyers.

Despite the negatives, though, this is one amazing figure, and can be very highly recommended. If you only get one Revenge of the Fallen figure, then make it Leader class Optimus Prime!

Nice piece for all Firefly & Serenity Fans
Nicely detailed, this ornament is cold cast resin like the Serenity & Reaver ornaments, though doesn't have as much heft to it (which of course is nice if you want to hang them on a tree). Not as much detail as Serenity, but then the shuttle itself didn't since it is normally so much smaller (the ornament is actually slightly larger than the Serenity Ornament).

It comes with the exact same base as the Serenity and Serenity in Disguise ornaments with, unfortunately, just the Serenity movie logo and copyright info on the bottom - would have been nice if it would have described the shuttle itself, at least briefly. I imagine the yet to be released Reaver ornament will also have the same base.

It is limited to only 5000 pieces making it a smaller edition than the 7000 edition Serenity in Disguise ornament which may make it the rarer (and more valuable) piece in the future. I'm still hoping for a lighted version of the Serenity ornament (which is not a limited edition by the way).

As a fan as well as a dealer of this piece, I would have to tell other fans to buy it for sure! As a collector, I would definitely buy it as the future value of it may be higher than the others in the series.

Rinoa stiffly bounces into figure form,
Rinoa is the cheerful heroine of Final Fantasy VIII, soon to be romantic interest of Squall. She's difficult to pose with her realistic robe/dress hybrid, but the level of detail is ridiculously good. The "Play Arts" Final Fantasy figures are a treat to look at and a wonderful item to own.

Magnificent Obsession
The smallest humanoid robot in the world is top-drawer entertainment, replay value is astounding! And I'm an adult! The articulation of
I-SOBOT's movements is impressive, as is his voice and sound effects. With the programming mode, you can program dozens of movements (the product comes with a large card of access codes to input data via a remote controller) into one or all three modules,, enabling a re-play in any combination. Brilliant. To the naysayers who complain of short battery power of this item (or ANY others), the solution is so simple. Just buy 1 or 2 extra sets of re-chargeable (and regular, for controller) batteries with one set in I-SOBOT, another already charged and ready, another in the charger, for non-stop play!

I-Sobot the next generation of home robot entertainment
Great piece of kit for both fun and education, for its size (small) it towers over the Robosapien 1 and 2 in tech. I got mine brand spanking new, for the amazing price of $49.99 Canadian. one servo stalled a little on one arm on the first one, but I returned and the new one is working great. The batteries surprised me, lasting much longer than expected, considering they are running a gyro and 17 servos. Three AAA batteries, lasted a more than two hours, they take about 5 to charge. although I do have a 15 min charger, I still prefer to use the one that comes with the I-Sobot.
You can run it in a variety of modes, Standard Remote control with the mini joysticks, Program mode: where you can get the bot to memorise a long chain of set commands, Special action mode: preset actions are replayed and are very entertaining, and lastly Voice activation mode: it understands me (Scottish) the wife (Candian) with no problems, accents do not seem to be a problem at all, unlike my DS!
it is a little fragile, but it is a small robot with extremely small parts so I wouldnt imagine it being anything else. And its hands are not functional like Robosapens (poseable only, but you didn't buy this robot to play the piano!)For a third generation home toybot this is well worth the money. treat it well and it will give you years of entertainment, or at least keep you occupied until something better comes along. My Robosapiens 1 and 2 are now shelved :) =^o.o^=

Too Much FUN!
I just got this the other day, when Amazon had it in the Lightning Deals, as a Christmas present for my son. Amazon shipped the next day and it arrived the day after that. I unboxed it and put the batteries in to make sure it worked before I put it under the tree next week [4-D & 4-AA]. Let me tell you - this thing is so much fun I didn't want to put it away! The voice recognition is very good; the infrared sensor really makes it seem like he's alive; the sounds he makes and his "temperment" are super! I haven't yet tried the "secret commands" another user posted, but I'm sure we will come Christmas Day. An excellent droid - I should have bought two!

I've had mine for years
My wife bought this for me for Christmas a few years ago now. I still have it in our bedroom and take it down for laughs occasionally. My 9 year old son loves it and it's funny to see it try to avoid the dogs and cat. It's cool to see a toy with so much sensory perception. To me it seems like this is one of those toys where you can see advancement in the technology and it makes you realize how fast things are changing. This is really a great find.

Great, but has Bad Motivator!
After seeing positive reviews online I was very exited about this toy. I purchased through Amazon and it arrived in about 4 days via standard shipping. I was highly impressed at all his features and was having fun until I began to notice a problem. My R2 kept running into walls and he would keep on trying to run through them until the load sensor on the wheels would trigger him to turn away and try a different direction. At first I thought that this must of been how he was designed to work. But then after doing more research I discovered that R2's sonar navigation system should have been detecting solid walls and objects. So, I called Amazon and had them send me a second R2 unit. The 2nd unit did not have this problem. It was successfully able to navigate through my home without bumping into anything. However, I have noticed that the infrared sensor for detecting humans doesn't work on the 2nd R2 unit. The 1st R2 did a really good job following me and locating me in its different modes thanks to the infrared heat sensors. The new one can't seem to do this. However, I think I'm going to go ahead and keep the 2nd R2 unit in spite of its bad infrared sensor since the only command that really relies on the infrared is the "follow me" command. Everthying else seems to work ok.

Bottom line is that I believe Hasbro had some quality issues with these toys since the two that I've bought through Amazon both had defective systems. The first had no sonar and the second has no infrared. I did call Hasbro and they said that they don't make these toys anymore so they couldn't offer any technical support. These R2 units were made back in 2002 but repackaged for sale in 2008. Hasbro's best advice was to keep exchanging until I found one that worked. So, I imagine that if you have one with all systems working then you've got a pretty incredible toy. As for me I think I'll hang on to this little guy that lacks his infrared. He's still a lot of fun and can do just about everything that he's supposed to. Best of all he doesn't keep running into the walls like the first one did.

Delta Squad
The commandos do not bend below the waist. They have full articulation from the waist up. Their Packs are removable, but they do not have removable helmets. Weapons that come with them are the Commando weapons, really cool. The characters match the "Star Wars Republic Commando" video game, also "Sev" the red commando has a shoulder movable piece on his pack that comes off really easily. Their paint jobs are awesome.

Overall I was very pleased with the quality of these figures. As some others have mentioned, it really isn't worth it unless you just want the commandos. (In my case I did) I have absolutely no regrets about buying this.

Although if you have younger children I would recommend you take caution with the accessories as they come off relatively easy. Some of their balance as far as standing on their own is a but unstable as well, but those are only minor issues.

The detailing is wonderful and the commandos look very individual. If you're a fan of Delta squad it is definitely worth it.

This predator is verry good at the grafics and detail.Some times i look at him face to face.Its alomost like hes alive.Its wepons are asome its spear is a little small but its cool.But it can use some upgrades I only gave it 4 starz because itz tiny little ninja star came off and one of the robe pins came off and ido take care of my toyz and action fiugures.But this is not a toy its a Ationfigure. This figure is good for all ages they are fun to pose and to play with I got 2 one to pose and one to play with...yeah im a 22 year old man who like to play with his predator fig so what ...there are some small stuff you should know he only comes with one caster (the gun) which can be used on back or in hand also comes with a med pack,cleaner kit both go on back and a spear that is a lil small I dont mind some people do...If you want a pred with 2 casters get the unmasked one your best bet would be to get 1 with the mask and 1 with out I would get then A.S.A.P. before the price gos up any more I got for my 2 $12.99 each before shipping....Have fun with your preds :)...

Alternate Realities can be fun, or, How Star Wars "might have been"
This product: funky alternatives! Early version of Storm Trooper before filming for Star Wars even begin as desinged by Ralph Mcquarrie.

In early versions of Lucas's story the Storm Troopers were trained in and used light sabers! As well as shields!

In General: Back in the early 80's my brother bought a Ralph Mcquarrie "Star Wars" "Portfolio" with "Letterbox" style pre-production paintings for the "first" "Star Wars" film. I remember how my imagination ran wild with the "alternate" versions of all the main characters. I espescially dug the Luke vs. Darth Vader painting where Vader had this very wolf-like mask where the top helmet was much more Samuri looking and the mouth grill came out like the snout of a wolf (an Luke looked cool with the oxygen mask too).
The Stormtroopers looked cooler too, and they had lightsabers! and shields!
And the painting of the two droids was cool because R2 looked much more expressive and functional, and 3PO looked just like the robot from "Metropolis".

Anyway, someone, somewhere, had the brilliant idea to actually make action figures based on these early pre-production paintings by McQuarrie!

I've managed to purchase the first 8 of the 12 thus far (Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, Luke, C-3PO and R2-D2, Chewbacca, & Ben Kenobi and Yoda) and look forward to the final 4 (Leia Starkiller, Han [George Lucas] Solo, Snowtrooper, and the one I've been wanting since around 1980: McQuarrie Darth Vader!).

Bottom line, amazing sculpts, genius idea, a must have for die-hard SW fans!

Excellent Re-issue
In regards to 'Mad Momma's review; your maam are nuts!. Not only did hasbro do a superior job of re-creating the 1977 kenner version, but its thoughly rugged, the elimination of the ejectable wings from this toy makes the attachment of them more securable than ever. Hower keep in mind the entire weigh of the toy is supported by a suface area of 1/16" of bent molded plastic any substantial weight will naturally pop of the wings because of the design. Get over it lady!. This is a excellent star wars toys. 5 stars across the board!!!

I have to disagree- excellent toy!
I am writing to disagree vehemently with the previous reviewer. Perhaps her son is too young? My son is 5 and he plays with his hasbro star wars toys almost every day and is pretty rough with them. The pieces just snap right back on if they pop off. I am very impressed with the durability and the detail on this toy. Also, I want to add that I have contacted Hasbro customer service about a game that we have and they could not have been nicer and promptly sent replacement parts free of charge.

Voyager Class Optimus Prime
Great Toy, Fantastic durabiliy. Articulation is awesome. If you could only get one I would definetly recommend this one its a must have

Interesting redesign
A word about the Classic series: The Classic series is a modern revisioning of the original toys and characters using modern toy technology and aesthetics. Hence, the toys will invoke the image of the G1 robots and alt modes but you'll find the designs quite different from their older toy counterparts. Nevertheless, the designers put in plenty of references in the toys to entertain the fans of old.

Classic Optimus does a very good job of evoking the image of Prime, both in image as well as in transformation. He has the familiar red & blue color scheme, the Prime style head design, front trailer windows forming the chest, arms formed from the sides of the truck, and rear towing part becoming the legs. There are of course a few differences such as Prime's lower abdomen not being the lower front of the truck as well as the design of his guns. (The gun formed from the weather vane looks more suited for Ultraman than Optimus) Thanks to modern toy designs, Classics Optimus has much more limb articulation than his G1 toy counterpart and definitely looks better as well. Although Classic Optimus has no action gimmicks, it's a fairly sturdy toy and should be able to withstand some mild abuse. Although kids can enjoy this toy as well, it's best appreciated by the adult collector with memories of the original G1 toys and cartoons.

I like it a lot.
I got this last year when I first got into Transformers, I think it was a good choice. Its really poseable, and it's easy to transform. From what I've seen of the original Transformers, Hasbro has done a good job of making it look like the original Optimus Prime.
